Once upon a time Jesse was stuck in a 4-track recorder with words and melodies in his head. Ben and Stephan rescued him with a drumkit and piano, and all three fended off rabid dustbunnies with guitars, glockenspiels, kids toys and air organs. Their great escape sounded like the SONIC BLISS demo.
The townspeople loved the sound of their triumph and cheered for their homecoming. Then king charged them with a new quest... to slay the purple dragon of Effazima. though he fought hard, Stephan retired from the band of travelers to become a lightbulb farmer with his two wives and twelve children. Eric the barbarian replaced him wielding drums of power, and the three were joined by the red magician Scott who cast spells with brass, woodwinds and strings.
The party of four fought the dragon for 2 years... Jesse was lost in the dungeons for 3 more years... suddenly the mighty Mason aided the group with many instruments fuzzed and played backwards, and finially the weary band of travelers emerge victorious with the dragon's treasure for all the townspeople to listen to... the ENDLESS FIELDS OF POPPY album. Sadly, Scott vanished into a time vortex and accidentally caused a paradox, rupturing the space-time continuum; Eric consumed a handful of jalapeno seeds and was transformed into a pepper tree...

The Curiously Strong Peppermints announce the release of their second album, ECHOES FROM THE ULTRAVIOLET FUZZ. Although it picks up right where their debut album left off, it is more cohesive, band-oriented and features a wider sonic range. ECHOES is a concept album organized into three Acts and examines: the rise and fall of Anna Livia Plurabelle and The Inverted Why; their disillusionment at the hands of The Synthetic Grin; The Inverted Why's isolation; and his eventual redemption in The Ultraviolet Fuzz. The album is full of hooky melodies, abstract lyrics, oddball instrumentation and of course lots of noisy guitars. The Curiously Strong Peppermints are currently performing live in the Midwest to support the album.
